MARGARET BELEC 

St. Albert, AB

Margaret’s interest in clay started young age. Forming animals fromclay dug from her family garden and dried in the sun. A 25-year veteran potter she continues to find inspiration from nature and enjoys the challenge of creating functional teapots and casseroles.  A member of the St. Albert Potters Guild.

ALIYA BOUBARD

Vancouver, BC 

Aliya is Anishinaabe and a member of Sagkeeng First Nation, on Treaty 1 Territory in Manitoba. A  multi-disciplinary artist, exploring photography, drawing, design, and traditional beading. While inspired by the traditional beadwork of her heritage she incorporates contemporary colours and patterns into her work. Arboubbeads is 100% Indigenous owned and operated. 

DORIS CHAREST

St. Albert, AB

Working in mixed-media is Doris Charest’s favourite form of painting. Charest experiments with colours and textures through collage, ink, watercolour and acrylic, incorporating string, plaster, wire and even wasp nest pieces into her work. Within each piece is a story waiting to be discovered. Charest has a BFA from the University of Calgary as well as a BED and MED from the University of Alberta and currently teaches and works through her studio in St. Albert.

Employing her education in fashion design and a love of accessories Sarah hand embroiders detail floral and graphic designs onto her hand sewn scarfs and accessories made from the softest flannels and cottons. Sure to keep you warm and looking cute! 

NORMA CALLICOTT

St. Albert, AB

Discarded magazine pages are altered by melting the ink with a solution, then dried outside on bright sunny day. Inspired by the resulting array of textures and patterns Norma further manipulates the pages allowing them to speak to her, drawing out memories and emotions to tell unique stories.

Brenda studied visual art and ceramics at Red Deer College, Alberta College of Art + Design, The Banff Centre for Arts, and the University of Regina. Her collection of functional pottery, sculptural ceramics, and installations are inspired by the prairies and a sense of nostalgia for Alberta’s pioneering past.

An artist and illustrator with a passion for exploring and celebrating the natural world Crystal captures the textures, colour, and personalities of everything from cows to vegetables in coloured pencil, acrylic and oil paint with exquisite detail.  Reminding us to take notice and value the beauty in all creatures and plants.

LAURA EDWARDS  

St. Albert, AB

Laura is inspired by spending quiet, contemplative moments in the studio connecting with the slower side of our fast-paced modern world and allows each piece to evolve through process. She uses natural earth pigments and non-toxic paint in effort to bring earth-friendly, health-conscious practices into her evolving process.

A supporter of recycling, reusing, and repurposing Julie enjoys the challenge of enhancing the natural flaws in the cut-offs, left over wood, used books, and found metal, glass and tile she uses in her work.  Often coming up with projects to fit the materials on hand.

A self-taught visual artist Sabine draws inspiration from the natural world around her reflecting the beauty of nature in a unique way that speaks to the soul. Each of her greeting cards is an original watercolour and ink painting.

Working with thrown or hand build stoneware and porcelain clay Shelly’s work varies from functional pieces such as mugs and bowls to more ambitious clocks and elaborately carved  vessels. She enjoyspushing her functional pieces to a new artistic level.A member of the St. Albert Potter’s Guild.

Jennifer and Jan make clothing that reflects their adventurous, creative, and generous personalities. Made from upcycled wool sweaters, suits, and scarves each piece is original and unique.  $10 from each pair of mittens soldis donated to organizations to help kids such as The Stollery Children’s Hospital, CASA, and iHuman Youth Society.

BRENDA MALKINSON

Edmonton, AB

Brenda creates watercolour paintings, woodblock prints, and contemporary stained glass composed of observations of local flora and fauna.   She opened her first art studio in 1977 and has completed over 70 public and private glass commissions. She was shortlisted for the 2019 Eldon & Anne Foote Edmonton Visual Arts Prize.
