Local Histories: Signs of the Times

Friday, May 16 from 2–3 pm

Join us monthly for an hour-long deep dive into local stories about St. Albert and our region’s history. This lecture series features a variety of speakers, topics and perspectives connected to our community. 

Try your hand at needle-felting in this beginner pop-up class!

Thursday, June 19 from 6–8:30 pm

Our instructor will guide everyone through the basics of needle-felting, help you design your own mini project, and show you samples for inspiration. Participants can choose to complete either a two-dimensional felting project, or a three-dimensional felting project. 

We love all the shades of green you get in the spring.

Needle Felted Owl Field Trip!

Speplól created these two loom beaded tapestries at their kitchen table, surrounded by the hubbub of home and family. Thousands of tiny seed beads come together to share sqwélqwel / true stories, sxwōxwiyám / Legend or traditional stories and xwélmexwelh tó:lmel/ traditional knowledge.

International Children's Festival of the Arts with Arts and Heritage St. Albert!

Participants will explore and create their own suspended art piece that plays with light and transparency, using natural and fabricated materials, inspired by the projects in the exhibition.
Kids will explore signs big and small on display and use them as inspiration to create their own signs using vibrant colours, unique symbols and “catchy” words or phrases.
