The First Draft of History: Newspapers in St. Albert

Newspapers offer the first draft of history. Journalists, publishers and editors work to make sense of the events and work to spread knowledge to their audience.

The history of newspapers in St. Albert is a reflection of our community. Just as a newspaper is a mirror the community, so are the people behind the news.

St. Albert has been home to numerous newspapers throughout our history. In its own way each newspaper has interpreted the news through its own unique perspective.

In celebration of the 65th anniversary of the St. Albert Gazette this exhibit take a look at the newspapers that have served St. Albert and the people behind them.
