St. Albert in Uniform

Date: August 4 to October 31

Opening Reception: Saturday, August 8 at 3 pm

Uniforms are worn for a wide variety of reasons. Many wear them in a professional role, and others wear theirs as member of a sports team, club or religious order.

Uniforms offer an odd clashing message. The wearer is simultaneously signalling that they are unique from the general population, but they are also to be considered equal to others wearing their uniform. The wearing of a uniform tells us about what is important to the individual wearer, as well as the larger organization that the uniform symbolizes.

Throughout our history the people of St. Albert have been identifiable through their uniforms. They show the diversity of the St. Albert experience. Explore St. Albert in Uniform to learn about St. Albert’s religious, law enforcement, military, social, sport, health care history and more.
