Rayma Peterson's specialty has been to document plant communities in watercolour. She takes the traditional botanical plant portrait and expands the idea to include the plant's natural habitat, thus adding important information about where the plant and it's neighbours live.
She has explored many types of habitats in Alberta and in this hemisphere including Boreal, Rocky Mountains, Southwestern Alberta, the Pacific Northwest, New England, the southwest, Cuba and Costa Rica. This book also includes her fibre art and drawings. Each artwork has an accompanying explanation.
She has exhibited and taught all over Alberta and internationally.
