Force Field a tribute to the women of Ukraine (2)

Motanka (Мотанка) are an ancient Ukrainian tradition, a talisman created to protect the home through the symbolic strength of women. It is believed that they can protect a family or individual, absorbing diseases, and safeguarding the household from evil. They represent a direct connection between the past, present and future, tying the peoples of today back to their ancestors and forwards to those who have yet to come. Motanka are made from scraps of fabric and thread, which are wrapped, folded and knotted, never stitched or sewn, so as not to harm the past or future
