Ages: All

Location: Art Gallery of St. Albert, 19 Perron Street, St. Albert, AB. (view on Google Maps)

Visit the Art Gallery of St. Albert and be inspired!

New for 2026, the Art Gallery of St. Albert will be hosting poetry evenings, making space for local poets to gather and share work inspired by our exhibitions.

Canvas + Poetry nights will be hosted on a Thursday evening during each of our exhibitions. Poets are encouraged to visit the Gallery beforehand and write a piece in response to the artwork on display. Then during Canvas & Poetry, poets will have the opportunity to share their words, surrounded by the artworks that inspired them.

Canvas + Poetry is a celebration of one artist inspiring another.

Note: Entry to the Art Gallery of St. Albert is always free, and the Gallery is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm, and Thursdays until 8 pm. Also check out Sketching Saturdays as a day to sketch, draw, write and create. Immerse yourself in our exhibitions, with fellow artists who are creating alongside you.

Event dates:
Canvas + Poetry - A Forest of Coexistence: March 5 from 6:30–8 pm. Sharing poems inspired by Eunna Oh’s exhibition exploring humanity’s profound connection to nature. A Forest of Coexistence, which runs from February 5 to March 14.

Canvas + Poetry – Ephemeral Language / Langue éphémère: April 9 from 6:30–8 pm. Sharing poems inspired by Sébastien Gaudette’s exhibitions exploring the magic of paper. Ephemeral Language runs from March 19 to April 30

"The program brought together an excellent group of people with different levels of treaty knowledge. I loved how Celina approached topics with openness and empathy.
