Teresa Stieben is a painter, photographer, and multi-media artist who even ventures into the world of eco-art and textiles. Stieben grew up in a large and creative family near Powell River, BC surrounded by the scent of cedar and fresh baked bread. Endlessly inspired by the natural world, she paints birds, animals, and people as well as florals and landscapes. She works in acrylic, watercolour, and chalk pastels, and utilizes a variety of print-making and etching techniques. More recently she has been weaving and creating textile hangings utilizing photographs and found objects. She studied sculpture at the University of Manitoba and graduated from the University of Calgary with a BFA in Visual Arts in 2002.
