Suzan Berwald is the artist behind Solstice Studio 59. Upon retiring in 2014, Suzan resumed her artistic journey, attending various art workshops and exploring a wide variety of mediums, including fused glass.
She views fused glass as a medium that provides artistic freedom alongside challenging limitations. While working, Suzan carefully considers the elements of each design, along wit
h the characteristics of the glass and how the composition and colours may change once the glass is fused. For Suzan, the factors that are beyond her control are also the most exciting parts of the glass fusing process.
Most of Suzan’s glass works are inspired by imagery from nature.
