Nature is the subject matter of Rhonda’s paintings and most often looking at the solitude of a mountain, tree or botanical, painted in watercolour. Sketches laid out are from photographs Rhonda has taken of the Alberta prairies and mountains and are abstract exaggerations of the subject. Her goal, through bold use of colour and line is to create a sense of "having been there" for the viewer, whether it is the cragginess of a mountain or use of layered bright colours in a sky to convey the promise of a new day.
