Rhonda Lund’s paintings are deeply inspired by the natural world and the physical and metaphorical interplay between earth and atmosphere. She explores the contrast of earth’s weight and shape with the light, movement and weightlessness of the sky. Solid and strong elements of earth such as mountains are connected to more ethereal elements of atmosphere and sky. Visually the two are often connected with trees and shapes to remind us of our place between.
Since early childhood Rhonda has been surrounded by Alberta’s natural wildlands. She is now living with her family in High Prairie, Alberta. Rhonda has a Bachelor of Fine Arts as well as a Bachelor’s of Education and is currently teaching art at a local High School.
