Kristine McGuinty is an artist inspired by the Canadian landscape. She went to school for Forestry and working outdoors nurtured her love for exploring nature. Being creative has always been an important part of Kristine’s life. The camera and then the paint brush became her tools and eventually led to a career change and the Grande Prairie Regional College Fine Arts Program. Being outdoors and exploring with her camera is how she looks for inspiration for her work. Her stylized oil and acrylic paintings play with representative forms in the landscape, but she is also looking for the abstract possibilities within nature by exaggerating shapes and colours. Now based in St. Albert, Alberta, Kristine is also an accomplished instructor and photographer and her work has been featured in group and solo shows throughout Northern Alberta.
