Born in Vissingen, Holland, Angela Grootelaar first came to Canada in 1957 living in Thunder Bay, Ontario.She taught art inSherwood Park, Alberta and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where she received her BFA at the University of Saskatchewan. Grootelaar now lives in St. Albert and has painted two public murals in the city as well as contributing to the AGSA’s new logo design in 2011 which was based on her own signature. She has exhibited her work since the mid 1970s and her paintings are represented in collections across Canada including The Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the City of St. Albert.
