Amanda McKenzie earned her BFA from the University of Alberta in 2012 and continues to be an arts advocate and instructor in Edmonton and the surrounding area. Currently the Printshop and Programs Coordinator at SNAP (Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists), McKenzie uses a variety of printmaking techniques including screen printing in her artwork. McKenzie’s work has been exhibited in group exhibitions throughout Canada and internationally in Mysłakowice, Poland. The Enticement series exhibited at the Art Gallery of St. Albert in 2021 depicts fabrications of fish incorporated with lures and bait imagery. These colourful fusions of creatures and the bait that attracts and captures them, explores the juxtaposition between natural and artificial elements.
