This delightful clay project allows students to create themselves along with their entire family, including pets. Students learn how to plan their low relief sculpture, incorporating multiple hand building techniques to create a unique portrait of their own family.

Student Outcomes
- Experiment with drawing, impressing, rolling, and coiling clay in order to create an accurate depiction of themselves
- Continue clay modelling, going beyond previous levels to include more advanced slab techniques; e.g., cutting, welding to make cylindrical shapes
- Explore how texture can be used to create a visual effect
