Construction

The new building required the expert engineering of Bird Construction to match Cardinal’s vision, in large part due to the underground river and silty soil conditions. Engineers had to drive almost 600 steel piles into the soil, which provided the base for reinforced concrete to house the building. Approximately 200 workers were needed over two years to complete the project.

Construction required:

15,000 m3 (16,400 yd3) of concrete

21,3330 m2 (270,000 ft2) of glass

1,100 tons of rebar

nearly 16km (10mi) of steel pile driven to depths of 100 feet
