Brenda Danbrook

Brenda Danbrook has studied visual art and ceramics at Red Deer College, Alberta College of Art + Design, and The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. She recently received her MFA from the University of Regina in 2019. She works as a full-time artist/ceramicist out of her home studio in Opal, Alberta and sells her functional work at several galleries and markets around Alberta.

In addition to creating functional tableware, Brenda incorporates her ceramics into art installations and sculptures inspired by pioneer history, family history, and contemporary craft. In 2016 the Art Gallery of St Albert hosted her exhibition Reconstructions in the main gallery space. Reconstructions featured Brenda’s own wheel thrown pottery, adorned with images of St Albert’s past. It explored a sense of nostalgia for the pioneer era, as well as Brenda’s own family history.
