January: Creations in Clay
Day: Thursdays
Time: 1:30 pm to 3 pm
Series Fee: $60 per child ($15 per class)
Series Duration: Four classes per month
Location: Visual Art Studios, St. Albert Place, 5 St. Anne Street
NOTE: Please contact our Registrar ( 780-459-1163) if you are a Homeschool parent interested in organizing a group of 10 children to take part in a visual art field trip of your choice. The minimum fee to book group art programs on select weekday afternoons from September to June is $150.
Upcoming Classes
- January 4–Family Plaque: Using various hand-building techniques, learn to build a low-relief family portrait in clay.
- January 11–Alberta Crest: Create a low-relief sculpture of the Alberta Crest using various building techniques, texture tools and by drawing on clay.
- January 18–Sgraffito Pot: Construct a vessel using clay coils or the pinch pot method. Add a coat of underglaze and scratch away the surface to create delicate patterns or rich textural details. (no edits)
- January 25–Underglaze Painting: Decorate your pottery with various colourful underglaze paints, and our instructor will do a final dip in a clear glaze for a shiny and durable finish
