Fall: Creative Circle
Are you looking for a new creative outlet? Join us monthly to experiment with a new art medium or technique. Each class presents a different project inspired by our current exhibition. The Creative Circle program for adults includes professional instruction and artist-grade materials.
Note: This program runs on the third Thursday of the month all year long.
Ages: 18+/Adults
Location: Art Gallery of St. Albert, 19 Perron Street
Upcoming Classes
- September 21: Wood-Burning: Try your hand at creating a small 4x5” wood-burning project. Draw out a design or use one of our templates, then learn to burn your design onto a wood panel carefully. You can add a layer of acrylic paint for a pop of colour, too!
- October 19th Harvest Still Life Sketching: Sip some apple cider and practice drawing from life. We’ll display fresh flowers, gourds and pumpkins to draw. Our instructor will demonstrate some fun oil pastel and watercolour sketching techniques.
- November 16
- December 21

What was your favourite part of the class?"I enjoyed every aspect of the class, from the freedom to create projects to the support provided by Shirley during challenges, such as throwing items on the wheel."
"We enjoyed the comfortable, welcoming atmosphere and received great instruction. Loved it!"
"I loved that Heather came around and asked each of us what we wanted to get out of that class. Then she did demos each class based on that."
"The program brought together an excellent group of people with different levels of treaty knowledge. I loved how Celina approached topics with openness and empathy. Her discussion of the generational impacts of residential schools was very moving. Additionally, her sharing of her family’s oral histories of negotiating and signing treaties was eye-opening."
"Watching my daughter have a great time getting her hands dirty and hearing her talk about how much she loves clay now."
"Each class explores a different medium and the kids love it!"
